First up is a place in my neighborhood.
Venue: Lyon Hall, Arlington, VA. Clarendon neighborhood at corner of Washington Blvd & Highland Street.
Food & Drink: Brought to you by the Arlington based group that also own The Liberty Tavern and Northside Social, this “casual & affordable neighborhood French brasserie” serves “approachable Alsatian-inspired fare, including … house-made charcuterie and sausages. The affordable wine list focuses on French selections, while the impressive beer list offers an extensive selection of European drafts and bottles.”
Private Dining Options: There is a private 2nd floor dining room, with its own bar, that could seat about 30 people and about 50 people standing.
Transit & Parking: Clarendon Metro rail stop on Orange line. Metered street parking (mostly free after 6pm) or garages nearby.
- Great food & beverage options
- Walking distance to Metro rail stop
- Private bar
- Near other local places for any “Welcome Party” options
- No dedicated parking
- Not within walking distance to any hotels
- Not suitable for larger groups
One of the first weddings I ever coordinated was held at the Hermitage Inn in Clifton, VA. The Hermitage Inn closed and reopened under new owners who transformed the dated restaurant into a beautiful space named Trummer’s On Main. With several private dining options, the restaurant is a beautiful venue if you are planning an intimate wedding, rehearsal dinner, post-wedding brunch, a milestone celebration or a corporate event in Northern Virginia.
Thank you to the Trummers for hosting us. Special kudos also for selecting a Barboursville Vineyard (near Charlottesville, VA) Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon as their house wines.
