In Memoriam
In memory of Vicky's father, Dennis, who passed away in August 2007 after a 6-year battle with colon cancer, EA will donate a portion of its sales to the Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health in New York. If you have a family history of colon cancer, please visit your physician today and discuss your early screening options. Vicky had her first colonoscopy recently and it is a painless, out-patient process that is well worth the time. It is never too early to start.
Giving Back
One of Vicky's passion is dance. She strongly believes in supporting the performing arts and in the value of dance. Ballet teaches discipline, dedication, and perseverance; as well as instills self confidence, promotes physical activity, and fosters cultural appreciation. What's not to like? You get to listen to great music; you work up a good sweat; you conquer a combination you couldn't do before (on a good day); and you get to learn some great choreography! Since she was 4 years old, she has been taking classical ballet lessons - first at the Royal Academy of Dance in her native Hong Kong, then at the Ballet Center of Long Island in Long Island, NY, at the Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center in Philadelphia, PA during her college years, and at the Maryland Youth Ballet in Bethesda, MD when she first moved to the DC area. During college, Vicky also picked up ballroom dancing and has convinced her husband to take classes with her. After a little arm-twisting and 7 years later, John is quite a good dancer!
Vicky is currently dancing at the Arlington Center for Dance in Arlington, VA - one of the BEST dance schools in the area for adults and for pre-professional, aspiring dancers. Its performing company, the Center Dance Company, performs several times during the year and provides Arlington County with enjoyable and affordable cultural entertainment.
To promote dance and to afford childern the same opportunities Vicky received , EA donates a portion of its sales to the Arlington Center for Dance scholarship fund.
